Resident Rules, Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines
1. Drug and Alcohol Testing / Search Policy
Residents will be required by staff to undergo alcohol and/or drug testing on a random or reasonable cause basis. Additionally, residents will be subject to a search of their person or personal belongings at any time, at the discretion of staff.

Refusal to comply with testing or search requests, or submitting a positive drug/alcohol screen, will result in immediate discharge from the program.

Residents will be charged a flat monthly fee of $20.00 for drug testing, regardless of how many tests are administered.

All positive test results may be verified through an approved laboratory. Residents are financially responsible for any additional lab fees incurred.
2. Prohibited Substances and Paraphernalia
Use or possession of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any drug-related paraphernalia (including pipes, rolling papers, etc.) No type of energy drink is allowed during the program or while on pass. This is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate discharge.
3. Violence and Threats
Physical violence, verbal abuse, or threats toward staff, residents, or volunteers will not be tolerated. Any violation will result in immediate discharge and may lead to criminal prosecution.
4. Illegal Activity
Engaging in any illegal activity is grounds for immediate discharge and possible legal action.
5. Interaction with Neighbors
Residents are strictly prohibited from interacting with neighbors (including waving, speaking, or asking for favors such as making phone calls or relaying messages). Residents must remain in designated areas. Violation may result in immediate discharge.
6. Gambling and Pornography
Gambling or possession of pornography may result in immediate discharge from the program.
7. Electronic Devices and Cell Phones
Residents are not allowed to possess or use cell phones or other electronic devices. Use of a visitor’s or guest’s device is also prohibited.

While on pass you are not allowed to use or look at a phone without staff approval.

Cell phone use at work may be allowed only with staff approval.

Any violation will result in discharge.
8. Profanity and Romanticizing Substance Use
Profanity, obscene gestures, or romanticizing past drug or alcohol use is not permitted.
9. Dress Code
Clothing that displays offensive content or contradicts Christian values or recovery principles may not be worn on the premises. No sleeveless shirts, or tank tops (wife beaters) are allowed. Violations may lead to discharge.
10. Respect for Property
Defacing, damaging, or destroying any building, furniture, vehicle or property will result in immediate discharge and your account will be charged for damage.
11. Tobacco Use Policy
Tobacco products are permitted only in designated areas. Use is not allowed in any building or in Lighthouse vehicles.

No sharing or loaning tobacco without staff approval.

Electronic smoking devices (e-cigarettes, vapes, etc.) are strictly prohibited.

Tobacco requests must be submitted on Mondays; approved items will be distributed once per week.

Violation of this policy may result in discharge.
12. Prohibited Items ("Do Not Bring" List)
Possession of any item on the “Do Not Bring” list is strictly prohibited. Residents found with these items may be discharged.

13. Fraternization and Conduct During Services
Fraternization (including whispering, note-passing, or any disruptive behavior) during special services (church, AA/NA meetings, Bible study, work events, etc.) is not permitted.

After services, residents must return to housing or enter the van within five minutes.

Brief acknowledgment of individuals with LASA status or those discharged from the program is allowed, but no extended conversation is permitted.

Violations may result in immediate discharge.
14. Honesty and Integrity
Any misrepresentation of pass information or attempts to manipulate, bypass, or deviate from program rules and procedures may result in immediate discharge.
15. Repeated Violations
Continuous or repeated violations of these rules may result in discharge from the program.
